Executive by day.
Entrepreneur in the margins.
I'm a full-time executive, a husband, a father, and the owner and operator of businesses I built in the margins of all of it. This is the story of how a career and ownership compounded each other, and why I think that is the most honest path for most ambitious people.

Twenty-three, with a degree that hadn't taught me to own anything
At twenty-three I was finishing college, starting my marriage, and holding a business degree that had taught me a lot about business and almost nothing about owning one. I wanted ownership. I also wanted stability for the family I was starting. Everyone told me those two things were in conflict.
So I did the unglamorous thing. I kept the job and built in the margins: nights, early mornings, weekends. Not because I was patient, but because burning the boats with a new wife and student loans would have been reckless, not brave.
In 2018 I also committed my life to God, and that reordered everything, including what I was building toward and why.
Two tracks, one operator
The career and the businesses ran in parallel the entire time. Here is what that actually looked like.

What the reps taught me
The biggest early gain from building alongside a career was not money. It was reps. Every one of these made me better at both jobs.
- 01
Selling and hearing no
Hundreds of customer conversations before the corporate role ever asked me to run a discovery call.
- 02
Pricing
Quoting real work for real people teaches margin faster than any spreadsheet exercise.
- 03
Hiring and leading
The first hire you pay from your own account changes how you think about every team you join after.
- 04
Contracts and mistakes
Bad agreements, missed details, and cleanups you pay for yourself. Expensive, and permanent.
- 05
Financial thinking
Cash flow, runway, and debt stopped being theory when the business bank account was mine.
- 06
Customer conversations
Listening for the real problem behind the stated one. The most transferable skill I own.
“The career made me a better operator. The businesses made me a better employee. Neither one would have compounded the way it did without the other.”

An illustrative week, not a literal time log. The point: the workday stayed protected, and ownership got built in the margins — before work, at lunch, after work, and on Saturdays.
I didn't wait for 40 free hours to start. I learned to use the five, ten, and fifteen I already had.
The parts that matter more
I married Amber in 2019. In 2026 our first son was born, and Amber left her corporate career at 28 to be home with him and build her own thing. None of this is worth much if the people in my house get the leftovers.
Fitness is how I keep the engine honest. A marathon on two weeks' notice in 2020 turned into an IRONMAN in 2024. Not because I love suffering, but because a body that can go the distance makes everything else possible.
In 2018 I committed my life to God. That is the center everything else is built around. It is why the framework on this site starts with faith and ends with service.
